I grew up feeling I did not deserve awards. I waited for others to recognize my efforts. I felt that my efforts were shadows, until another human recognized them. An actor waits for the reviews to come out, in hope that their efforts were seen. At school, the children wait, in hope, that they will recieve a certificate of their accomplishments. We go back to college to get that paper, to prove we did it.

With the children, I desired them to see their own efforts, and be proud of themselves, Now! I desired them to grow up, believing they deserve. My Intentions were to give these children the words, I did not feel I had in my life. I had to bring them into my daily life. That was my faith in what I was doing, to start the promise to these children, to blow up their balloons. I did this, by giving out Pokemon Awards. This way, they could see them, and feel what it was like. I recieved my first award at my High School Reunion. It changed my life! So why not allow children, to recieve the award, they felt they deserved. That is the first step. Ask yourself, what "Award" do I deserve today. Stretcher #30607 The Award I deserve today is......................................... The awards made the children believe they are worthy. If they already knew, they now knew more. Everyday, more children came. At first, they came waiting for me to see their worth. But, I desired them to feel their own worth. Ask yourself, what award do I deserve today! Then ask your child. You ask first, then ask them.

When I asked a child, "what award have you earned?" Their first reaction was "None" or "I don't know" I loved this part, this was my opportunity to understand the child. I know what I see, I desired to know what they felt. After giving them a few seconds to answer, I could see their minds going, with the question : "Why am I asking them?" They looked confused. First thing I noticed is, that their eyes and shoulders lowered. I had been given a golden opportunity to bring forth their beliefs about themselves.

I explained to them, that they need to start recieving awards ,that they felt they deserved. "What award did you deserve yesterday?" I shared with them, that they need to start receiving the awards, that they had been working on. "Only you know which awards you have been working on. Or "which one do you deserve today?"

Here are a few of the first answers I received, when handing out each award page, to be added to their Pokemon journal : Completion Award Grateful Award Observant Award Thank You Award On the page, I include an opportunity, to receive another Award, By answering two Stretchers, and one question. I deserve this award because....... The next award I deserve is......... How did this feel to receive? They would then fill out the page, and bring it back to me. I would tell him, "I am proud of you," and hand them their sticker.
I also put out a clipboard, for them to request an Award. It said, I _________________ deserve an "____________AWARD. I would make the requested award and handout the next day.
